Century Egg are a Nova Scotia-based punk band that deliver edgy, aggressive tracks. Their newest, ‘Mirror’, takes influence from Asian artists like Faye Wong and Pu Shu. Vocalist Shane Song is on fire form here, layering gritty melodies over the wild flailing of her bandmates’ instruments. In roughly two minutes, the band get their point across: “This song is about the struggle of depression and how dark things can feel even when there are bright sides.” We’re looking forward to seeing what’s next from these Canadian musicians. -Dan Peeke
